Geology Rocks! Program with Jeri Jones–The Rise & Fall of the Appalachians

Free. In partnership with Franklin Co. Rock & Mineral Club. Geologist Jeri Jones discusses the legendary Appalachian mountains, beginning with how the mountains were formed. He will talk about the rocks, minerals, fossils, mineral resources, caves and earthquakes in the Appalachians. And participants will learn how high the ancient mountains were when originally formed, compared to today’s height.
